18.2.19 // Ben + Tyla

Emily Richardson

Ben and Tyla were married at Gabbinbar Homestead in Toowoomba. If you’ve met them you KNOW how much they emulate joy and such a zest for life! You can’t even be around these two without laughing every minute. Our first meeting was the time I’ve met Tyla and I think we talked about flowers for about 2 minutes before she passed the reins over to me, gave me full control and then we just had coffee and became friends ♡

Their wedding was the epitome of effortless yet beautiful with all the right touches. My personal fave was their ‘Forever Yong’ sign (OC vibes anyone?) and Gabbinbar as always is amazing on every account.

10.3.18 // Tristan + Jodi

Emily Richardson

Tristan and Jodi were married at the Gold Coast Farm House in the Numinbah Valley. Jodi was just one of those brides that breathed effortless. So much so that the morning I delivered the flowers to the farm house she was down amongst the wet fields helping set up in her bridal robe. I’ve since done weddings for some of the bridesmaids and it’s honestly such a joy to get to see Jodi and her girls every time!

She was easy and trusting from the beginning and once the vision was established she trusted me to run with it. Jodi + Tristan undertook a lot of the DIY styling and decor themselves, keeping it to the festival, relaxed vibe they desired (and achieved BEAUTIFULLY!). In regards to the flowers we centred around natives - banksias and proteas. This look was softened with lilac tea roses and tea tree, surrounded by gum and olive foliage.

Jodi answered a few questions about her vendors and wedding:

How did you and Tristan meet?

We have known each other since primary school but Tristan is best friends with my sister so we met through her! Not sure if she was happy about it at the time!

What has been your favourite part of marriage?

Our favourite part about being is married, its that we don't get asked 'when are you going to get married' by all our family and friends at every event!

What was the inspiration behind your wedding decor?

We wanted a really relaxed outdoor festival vibe at our wedding with the marquee, food truck style food and no seating plan!

We both love doing DIY so it was really fun to put our own touches into different parts of the wedding decor and have the freedom at our venue to basically do whatever we wanted!

What made you choose Ruby Lane for your wedding florist?

I had contacted a few florists and either didn't hear back from them or they weren't able to do what I was looking for! When I contacted Emily at Ruby Lane Flower Co she responded within the hour (even though she had just gotten married that weekend and was heading on her honeymoon) and sent through exactly what I was looking for! Honestly the best customer service I have ever received! Easy to talk with and bounce ideas off and change things up when I needed to!

What were your thoughts on your bouquet?

I absolutely loved my bouquet and the bridesmaids! I honestly wish the flowers never died and I could have them in my home forever! Everything was exactly what I wanted! Would and do highly recommend Emily from Ruby Lane Flower Co to all my girlfriends and anyone else I know getting married!
